Motivating Through Empowerment

Every organization places value on team members who are engaged and motivated.  However, one of the top complaints of employees is a lack of motivation that stems from not feeling empowered.  This course identifies approaches for fostering a work environment where individuals feel invested in the overall success of the organization.

After defining empowerment, scenarios are presented that illustrate how the degree of empowerment given to team members can affect individual buy-in and overall organizational morale.  For employees who are intrinsically-motivated, the benefits of granting increased autonomy are considered.  Finally, managers learn eight simple strategies for empowering and thereby motivating their workforce.
